The design & quality of this case exceeded all of my expectations in every aspect! I don’t expect to have to replace this case for a long time. I highly recommend the D-Tap cases!
Thanks a ton, John! Thrilled to exceed your expectations.
Ordered this case as I needed to transport a few pistols on a commercial flight (TSA etc)
The case arrived just a few days after I ordered it. it's SOLID construction, the rubber seal is nice, feels like a very tight seal when closed.
The lock taba re pretty big, so you can use a heafty lock o nit.
I encountered no issues going through TSA security process with it. (checking it in etc)
The baggage handlers didn't dissappoint as they threw it around like it a football, but it showed no signs of damage or breach. Tough case!
Now that I have it, using silicate packs and the inner foam that isn't the decay/crumbly kind, will use it for storage and transport to the range.
The ONLY cons are the lengths of the trays. perfect for moderate length pistols. However, if you have slightly longer barrels or models that are a bit longer, you'll probably have to trim space into the ammo slots area to accommodate.
My 1911 barely fits lengthwise.
So far, I have only had this case for a couple of weeks, but it seems like a really good case. I will give a list of the pros and cons of my experience with the case.
-I have a Sig P226 and between the grip width and the decocking lever sometimes catches on the foam. I also have a 1911 where the bottom of the grip sometimes catches the foam as well.
-Can be awkward with equipment inside, but I'll be fair, I started filling the case from the center out, and this helped considerably.
- When I first opened the case I heard a hiss (not sure if positive or negative pressure). This tells me that it is airtight.
- Considering the number of pistols this can hold for the price it is reasonable.
- Center storage can easily hold ear muffs, and a couple of mag loaders, with room to spare.
