Mechanical Engineer

Our manufacturing facility houses both injection molding and assembly operations, in addition to a tool room. UK exports to over 60 countries.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and participate in design projects, developing innovative solutions to mechanical problems
  • Work as a project team member to ensure efficient completion of all activities required to meet project outcomes
  • Participate in identifying and developing product requirements
  • Translate requirements into basic specifications and designs with moderate guidance
  • Develop and maintain detailed CAD files and technical drawings
  • Conduct performance testing of new and existing products with moderate guidance
  • Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Support the UK mission of continuous improvement in design, manufacturing, and quality

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or higher in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to work on simultaneous projects
  • Excellent verbal, written and graphical communication skills

Critical Areas of Experience:

  • 3D CAD systems (Solidworks preferred)
  • Applications of mechanics of materials, structural design, and FEA
  • Plastics and injection molding
  • Design for manufacturing
  • Material costing

Favorable Qualifications:

  • Experience with injection molding design and mold-flow analysis
  • Familiarity with designing sealed protective enclosures
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanisms and kinematics
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Fluency in Chinese
  • Availability to travel periodically
